    Re: granite questions

Personally, I think it's entirely possible for someone to have bought a genetic granite at a normal price. I also think it's entirely possible to have a snake that has granite traits without it being a specific gene that can be passed on to its offspring. The variability in ball python genetics is crazy like that. The only way to prove an unknown granite is to breed it out and see if it throws true. I don't think it's fair to say someone's snake is definitely a normal just because they got it from an unknown source at a normal price. Nor do I think it's proper to say an unproven snake is definitely a granite just because it has some markers.

    Just my two cents.

    Re: granite questions

I bought an 06 Genetic granite male from NERD for $150 last year. I also bought an 1800g 05 genetic granite female for $400 this year....so the prices are all over the place....
I am making granites and lemon pastel granites this year.

    Re: granite questions

I have a Genetic Granite that looks a lot like the OP's. I got her for $200 from someone who also had the father (gorgeous Granite). Mine has all the markers, but is nowhere near as obvious as the father.

Btw, she has been breeding with my YB this season.

The female in this post is being paired with a pastel this year. So if nothing else I should get some nicely blushed pastels. [fingers crossed]

    Sorry. I meant Nagini's (& actually Roosterman's also), not the OP's.

    Re: granite questions

which is why I stated first that she isnt proven. I'm not claiming she's a genetic granite until I see if she throws true.

    Re: granite questions

But you sure are fighting for it to be one.

Im just saying that it looks like alot of normals that i have seen and nothing like any granite i have seen. And if the person you got it from sold it for $30 i highly doubt they paid a granite price for it, thus reinforcing my thought its a normal.
