First thing that comes to my mind... Is that a girl? And if so is said girl in with a boy? Looks like a gravid female to me. The dark color is just the norm, there is alot going on in that belly

Looks like you will have some eggs soon, Pat!
The background color is normal, as Fosh said.

Re: What is this? Bruising?
not bruising, looks like you have a gravid female, is she in with a male? if so they may be fertilized eggs.
Even if the eggs are not fertilized,it is very important to try and keep her well fed. she may not eat as much while she has the eggs, but as soon as she lays them she will be one hungry gecko. she will have most likely lost alot of weight while carrying these egs Crickets are good, and if you want to give her a little bit more to gain her wait back mealworms, superworms, wax worms, butterworms... these are all good "weight gain" bugs, just be careful not to let the worms burrow or anything, they could turn into potentially harmful to your leo
All the best
Jamie
