A problem. Help.
Alright. I had my little bp out this afternoon and I noticed something that concerned me.
Whenever She was crawling about I noticed that she was making a very faint squeaking noise. It was intermittent. I couldn't hear it at all times though I sat and listened for quite a while. I noticed it two or three times and it seemed like it was wheezing. I have been monitoring her cage temps for some time now and to the absolute best of my knowledge it has never dropped below 70 and the vast majority of the time the cool side held 80.
From what I gather it could be a number of things. This comes as a bit of a surprise and has me worried... Anyone know what might be going on?
- For that matter if something like this is serious then I can depart to my vet immediately.

Re: A problem. Help.
Wheezing can be a sign of RI.

Re: A problem. Help.
I'm honestly not real sure, as I haven't had this problem yet, but a trip to a snake vet would probably be called for.

Re: A problem. Help.
I am going to read up on it and pray the best. I will get her to the vet asap. I doubt it will be tomorrow.. But since she ate without question Wednesday I think I may have some time. If anyone sees it differently please inform me.

- Update -
I'm sorry for double posting but I felt that it could help anyone who may have noticed the same thing and I PRAY that this may be the case with my little girl.
After reading more on RI I noted that my python's symptoms and those related to RI didn't line up...
I noticed that my girl hasn't lost any interest in her food, has yet to display any "snotty nose" signs, no bloating or swollen body, she also lacks any display of stargazing and tends to rest normally in a coiled position under her hides. She also does not openly have a gaping mouth and the "wheezing" I mentioned earlier isn't doesn't seem to be the heavy breathing I noticed in the symptoms list. She only makes the squeaking noise sparsely.
in addition to these I have also read that some of these reptiles may show mimics of ri as a sign that they have had enough of being handled. Considering I had taken her out a few times today and she has still yet to poo... I HOPE that she may only wish to be put down.
Any one else seen this kind of thing?

Re: A problem. Help.
I don't handle my snakes much, but I guess it could be some sort of stress sign. Make sure to keep an eye on him, without handling him of course! Keep us updated.

Re: A problem. Help.
Usually squeeking is a sign of RI, it may be just early signs. I would not wait until the snake is open-mouthed gasping or drooling mucus before a vet trip. Caught early RI can easily be cured, but if you wait until she is refusing food, etc etc, it could be too advanced.
Just my $0.02, but I'd take her in to the vet and get her on antibiotics. Perhaps raise the temps slightly, and make sure the cool side doesn't drop in temps to below 80F at least.

Re: A problem. Help.
Agreed. The more I sit and think about it the more I worry. I will end up taking her for radiology and care within the next couple of days.
