Just a nonsense post.
I'm bored since the semester is basically over and now I don't know what to do with myself until next semester... Well, work ... but I mean during my free time.
So I thought I'd just post about Raven. Tonight is feeding night, and everybody else took theirs no problem. Of course HE had to be the difficult one. I heated the rat, and used a temp gun to make sure it was good and warm. I heat them into the 90's and sometimes slightly higher, just to make sure it gets the snakes excited. When I brought it over to his cage, he immediately took off in the opposite direction like, "Finally! Lemme stretch my non-existent legs!" I showed him the rat and made it do a little twitchy dance. He went into S pose, but that was it. After staring at it for a few seconds and not striking, I started making it do the zombie dance. Raven actually had the gall to YAWN at me. So I took it away from him and was going to just lay it in his tub, since sometimes he likes them "live" and sometimes he likes to just mosey on up to them. I had it half-way behind him when I dropped it on accident. It hit him on the back and he whipped around SO FAST! -lol- I guess he just had to get mad at it.
Unfortunately, he decided he'd rather eat the rat out of the tub than in. And he is a weird one so I figured I'd just let him do what he wanted and then put him back when he's done. So he's sitting on the living room floor, squeezing the tar out of his rat, and has been at it for about 5 minutes now. ...Likes to make sure they're REALLY dead I guess... He's just such a weird snake. Everything he does is weird...

Interesting you should post about feeding. I fed my little guy tonight, and I think I finally figured something out....he doesn't like the mouse to be dangled. This is the third time in a row now that he just sits and looks at it while I dangle it off the tongs, but as soon as it touches something when I'm laying it down on his hide, he knocks the hades out of it and constricts it. Weird. I guess I always dangled it from the tongs because that's what I saw everyone else doing. It didn't hit me till tonight that he never strikes until I start to lay the mouse down in front of him.

My normal George is kinda a goofy eater too. Last week when I fed him he actually missed and slammed his head into the side of the tank... I was worried because it was loud. He continued hunting so I left the rat in there with him. Almost 10 minutes later he and the rat are nose to nose and still no strike again. I couldn't get to the camera without making lots of movement outside the glass tank so I didnt want to do that. The rat gave him a kiss and whabam...
I think I may start feeding in a different enclosure with less stuff in it because the rat found some high ground that it made it tuff for george to sneak up on him I think. We'll find out tomorrow
Thanks!
