Ball Python dunking her head in bowl
Last night I saw my girl dunking her head in her water bowl for the first time ever. I pulled her out and checked her head closely for mites, but didn't see any. I recently added a Boa to my collection, but there are no signs of mites on him (plus I got him from a reputable breeder). Any ideas?

My BP does the same thing. i was certain he must have mites. No mites were found and he still does it upon occasion. I'm taking it he just likes to take a dip in his water.

Thanks for the quick replies =) I wouldn't be worried if I hadn't just brought another snake into the house. She's on paper towel as substrate so hopefully any mites (if there are any) should be easy to see.

Make sure you're practicing good quarantine methods! As you've already had a mite scare, you wouldn't want IBD to be transferred from your boa to your ball (which I believe is fatal in all cases for BPs).
