    anyone notice this?? why????

Looking at all our breedings so far this year, we've noticed that the female's tail always ends up on top over the male.
We were just looking at other pictures of people's breeding and noticed the same thing in every one of them.
Anybody else notice this before?? Is there a reason for this happening????

My guess is because the male is horny, and does more work to get his vent under hers to get the job done.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Not sure why - but that's how you can tell which is male and which is female when looking at pictures.

Uhhh. (*thinks how to phrase it politely). Positioning? Not to get into the TMI zone, but the male needs a certain 'line-up' to have the best, um....shot, at impregnating his girl........

I cold give you the anatomical technicalities, but that's what it boils down to. The most efficient method of increasing the odds that your swimmers win.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers,
    Kat

I am not sure that is as definitve as you claim. Have you ever seen a male copulate with another male? It happens, but I am not sure how you would teel which is the male, because they both are. I am not trying to be harsh, as this situation is the exception and not the norm.

    Just Sayin,
Since male copulation is considered a dominating act -- I always figured that the one on the bottom was the winner so to speak.
