    Wink New Columbian Question

So I recently purchased a columbian boa from some ignorant people on craigslist. She's an amazing looking girl, proven breeder too! She's 6.5-7' long, now to the sad part... They kept her in a closet, where the heating light wasn't working and using some wierd form of substrate, the water wasn't fresh and there was poop and shed everywhere in the tank. She was just starting her pre-shed when I got her and in the process of misting her and the cage today I noticed something very strange on her head. It seemed as if she had two bumps on her head. She was very defensive when I bent over to get a closer look (even got a little hiss out of her...moody little....) anyway...any ideas on what it could be? I'm almost scared to look in there again I don't wanna stress her out anymore than she is. My second question is...how long do RTB's usually shed for? Is it about the same as a ball?

p.s. after she's done shedding, I'll try to post pictures of her

You sure thats just not part of her skull? my boas have to bumps also (normally) at the back top of their head i think its just part of their head unless the bumps are abnormally big.

And all snakes stay in shed for the same amount of time. however the only time (that i know of) that snakes shed "fast" is when they are shedding due to a scare or having mites and trying to get rid of them.

(side note: when i said all snakes stay in shed for the same amount of time by this i meant generally speaking they stop eating then a week or so later you see their skin really due and eyes get blue. the next week they look "normal" then a few days to a week later they shed.

so I want to say the complete shed mode from beginning to end is about two weeks?

    what does everyone else think?

Yeah, I was gonna make a correction about the bumps...it was the way the light in the room was hitting her head it was making her look like she had bumps, but everything is good.
