    Stupid first timers Question

I just got my First BP today and i have a "I think" stupid ?
The Breeder i got him from has been feeding F/T would it be best to keep im on F/T or could i try live?
    Pro's/cons?
is it hard to get them back on F/T?

Really doesn't matter, as long as it eats. Only con to live is injury to the snake but that is very rare. No real cons to f/t if it will take it. Kinda according to what is more convienient for you. Yes...once eating live some will not go back to f/t, not all, kinda varies with each individual snake. All my snakes will eat live and 2 will take f/t when offered.
And remember, there are NO stupid questions.

If it is on f/t I would stick with it. #1 safety of the animal as mentioned above. #2 cost effectiveness. You can buy f/t in bulk, they are always convienant and available. Live you have to buy everytime you feed (unless you raise your own), and hope each time you drive to the store that they are not out. Your also have to plan on taking care of that animal on those days you bp refuses food (not a big deal if you raise your own). Just my opinion, but life is so much simpler with the ones that take f/t.

    Re: Stupid first timers Question

By feeding live you are taking the risk that your BP not switch back to F/T, so if you do so make sure this is really what you want.

Live or F/T, it does not matter, feed what works for your BP and is convenient for you.

ya all mine eat live because it cheaper for me and i like to support my pet store that ROCKS i just watch and if the rat stands on him/her i pull it away to prevent rat bites (i only do that with "wild strickers" that have no aim literally) but i normally dangle it for them

    Re: Stupid first timers Question

    Go f/t!!
    Pros:
-Snake does not get injured by prey
-You don't have to supervise feeding
    -Cheaper
-You don't need caging/feeding/smelling for keeping a rat for months if your snake refuses to eat
    Cons:
Um..... it's not as fun to watch? Go on youtube and you can watch a million vids of snakes eating live.

My BP refuses f/t, and I really wish she wouldn't! Live is a headache, a danger, an extra trip to the pet store every week, and extra money!
