    Not eating

Ok, so I have a little girl who is about 9.5 inches long now, and she was eating upwards of 50 crickets a day. The pet store ppl said she was probably big enough for medium crickets now, so I tried them. They looked a little big, so I put some of the smaller ones in there to see how she handled them. She seemed ok, but didn't eat very many of them, around 15 in two feedings. Then yesterday she didn't eat anything at all. This morning she ate one, and then just looked at me. She's getting thin and I don't like it, cuz she's usually plump (she's a pig :-P). I'm wondering if she just can't handle the bigger ones yet, so I'm heading to the petstore now to get smaller ones. I don't think she's impacted, because she definitely pooped yesterday. What do you guys think?

Ok, well, I went and got the small crickets and offered them to her and she ate 85 in one sitting. I'm guessing that supports my idea that she isn't ready for the mediums yet.

The rule for crickets is that they should be no bigger than the width from one eye to another(head width)

Yeah, I had read that somewhere. Problem is, when I order small crickets, they end up being pinheads which are about half of that space between her eyes, if that. The guy in the petstore said that the mediums weren't that much bigger, but as soon as they handed me the bag, I knew better. :-\ they aren't incredibly bigger than the space between her eyes, but enough that I didn't want her eating them, and I'm glad she knew better, too. I need something in between those sizes, but petsmart's crickets are the same way. Do you think someone online might be able to sell me the right size crickets?

I used to get my crickets from Flukers . Don't forget to dust them with calcium.

Yuck yuck yuck ycuk and yuck! Flukers ( I have a different name but I like my infraction bar at 0's) have been known to send parasite loaded crickets along with bad products and unhealthy reptiles ( The once gave away dieing beardies) I recommend you find a different source.... Granted it was two years ago, I still do not trust them.

Actually, I proved myself wrong. Petsmart's crickets were bigger than pinhead, but still smaller than the mediums I had tried, and Bella is taking them well, though not as many as when I was giving her the pinheads (obviously).
