BP bites
I haven't been hit by my BP yet, but how bad does it hurt when they get you? To put it against something I am very familiar with, how bad does it hurt compared to when the cat gets a hold of you?

3/4 of my new BPs have been very bitey. Only one however, has successfully bitten me and drew blood.
It honestly scares you more than it will hurt. I would rather be bitten by a bp than a rat or mouse concerning pain. Concerning scare factor, snake bites really will make you jump!
It's just a little prick. It's worse when they prick your finger to take blood at the doctors office. :]
No worries.

Ditto! I was just bit (feed strike. Probably worst kind since she tried constricting my arm) by a 5 footer. It really didn't hurt anywhere near as much as it looked like it was hurting while she was biting me...lol.
Needless to say, I'm not concerned about BP bites any longer

I have a very friendly cat I could introduce you to. He is friendly, but he is a little bi-polar I guess.
Sneak attacks are common, blood usually results.

Re: BP bites
I've never been bit by my bp, and i keep wondering how it compares to a corn snake with a similar-sized head.
Even though she's a young'n, she's as calm as can be(though an agressive feeder, I make sure to keep mouse smell off my hands)

Re: BP bites
Never been bit, only been struck at while I was moving during a feed time, and I was a good 4 feet away at the time.
But I can tell you mice bite like crazy, rats hurt more when they bite, but are a lot less likely to bite you (only been bit one time, mice have bit me dozens). I can say i would be startled by a ball biting me.

Re: BP bites
Never been bitten by a pet BP.
Wild rat snake yes, it hurt a little bit {less than being pricked by thorns on a rose bush}
Was bitten between 1st and 2nd finger in the pet store by a ferret...now that sucker hurt and he didn't want to let go either.
Define painful reptile bite: a TOKAY clamped onto the edge of your hand. Now that hurts.

Re: BP bites
Wikipedia's description of a tokay bite
The Tokay is also considered the "pit bull" of the Gecko world due to the fact that when they bite their human handlers, they often won't let go for up to several hours at a time, and generally cannot be forcibly removed without causing harm to the Gecko. One way of getting a Tokay to release its hold is to submerge the animal in water, which will encourage the lizard to let go, without causing it any harm or undue stress
Yeah, OW.
