If you are worried about bacteria build up, which I don't think should be an issue; you could use a tupperware container. Cut a hole in the lid large enough for your snake to enter and place the moss with paper towels inside the hide. When you see your snakes belly turn pink start to offer the humid hide and change out the paper and moss every other day until he sheds.

Well it sounds like you're not sure if the caps are still retained right?

I wouldn't mess with the eyes and trying to get the retained cap off. There are ways to get them off but you could damage the snake's eye.

The easiest way to solve a retained eye cap is to make sure your humidity is at the proper levels next shed. As soon as you notice the belly get pink I would bump the humidity up to 60-70%.

I agree. The stuck shed is telling you that humidity needs to be increased. Once you so, you should you have a complete shed next time.
