    2 eaten....

Ok So I go to school today and stay out for lunch then I come home after my second class to find my momma mouse and one of my baby mice eaten( I had wateredand fed them all before school at 6 this morning)!!! I have been feeding them lab blocks since I started breeding and have had no problems with behavior. my babies are about 3 weeks old and now their mom is dead.... one is eating solids so I'm rootin for her! My once loving babysitter mouse went crazy and now she is attacking them... I don't know what to do.... I can't handle the baby mice they just bite me... they are all going to die... What would cause so much aggression from my favorite mouse( the babysitter)? She was more loving to them than their mom was... I truely dont understand.

That stinks!! I think mice are just evil sometimes. I know a lot of people on here swear by communal nurseries. And i can't say anything bad about it because I have never done it that way. I do know that when I was breeding mice some ten to fifteen years ago I always let the mothers nurse in separate enclosures and never lost any mice. But I had a very small colony.
