    I have an '06 0.1 Black Gap Blair's phase

She has been a great snake. Took a little owrk to get her switched to F/T but has been a champ feeder since then. If you have never delt with lizard feeders I highly recommend getting one that is already on mice just to make your life easier.

    Re: Any1 have Grey-banded KS's?

I bought one for my best friend on her birthday. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics. It's been with her for 2.5 months now, and it still hasn't taken a meal. She's tried a lot of different things, lizards, mice, scenting, other crazy off-the-wall stuff ... but nothing has gotten him to eat. She says he's still growing and acting normal. We researched it and someone said that gb kings can live off their egg yolk for about 3 months. If that's true, then I guess that's what he's doing. If anyone has any tips on it, please let me know. And the set up is a 15q tub with correct temps, humidity, decor, etc.

    @ N4S

No she is not full grown. I have not been pushing her and she was the runt of her litter. They tend to max out about the sixe of a smallish corn, a little over a meter or so and able to take adult mice.

    @ Mindi

I am guessing you have but have you tried spliting the skull? Or just mouse parts (legs/tails)? And have you tried live pinks? Sometimes the need to start on live just to get a trigger on the whole mouse idea from the movement.

Also, personally I do not like scenting or lizard feeding for these. I know it is their natural prey and can be "helpful" in getting them to eat but GBKs can be real stubborn and just stay set on lizards if they get even a single taste of one. LIke I said, just my personal preference but I figured I would put it out there.

Lastly, while it is not exactly ideal and I would not advocate it unless it is an absolute last resort but an assist feed of a mouse tail might just work to get the animal a taste for mice.

    Re: Any1 have Grey-banded KS's?

She has not tried splitting the skull that I know of. She may have, but I'm not sure. She did get him to eat the tail of something. I think it was a lizard, though, and not a mouse. He didn't care. He ate it, but has had no more enthusiasm about eating than before he tasted it. She has tried live and dead mice and lizards. She's tried house geckos, fence lizards, other random stuff. The darn thing just won't eat! It's really frustrating to me and it's not even my snake. -lol- I told her not to buy it (we knew it hadn't fed yet) but she fell in love with THAT one and had to have THAT one . -lol- She's really trying her best with it though. She's done everything she can, and she's doing a good job really. Gotta commend her for that. If it reaches that 3 month mark and still hasn't eaten, she says she's going to force feed it. She's trying to hold off though.

Here are a few of mine.

I still have a couple more I need to get pics of. They are fun little snake until it comes time to feeding hatchlings. They are worse than chondros. lol.

You might want to try cooling it down for a month or two and see what happens. Sometimes these snakes do not eat until after their first brumation. I have 2 hatchlings that I produced that have not fed in 3 months. They have lost very little weight so I'm going to put them in the brumation room in a week or two. Just a thought.
