Re: Repster Shipping Feedback
i talked to him today after having an issue with them... they're "working on releasing Reptster 2.0 and all the problems will be worked out."
i'm not saying this to be critical, because for what they are, it's a good service...

Does that mean we will have a guarantee that FEDEX will have to accept shipments done through Reptsters service? Or will it continue to be hit or miss based on whom is working the FEDEX counter. I really want to use Reptster as it is cheaper and very easy to set up shippments, but my local Longwood, Fl FEDEX terminal refuses shipments through Reptster. I still don't know how they are able to do this, and unfortunately I have never been given a strait answer as to why!

no that's just them being dumb... tell them to call the reptster customer service number while you're there.

You feel free to do business with a lying, deadbeat like David Young who may or may not have a legal agreement w/ FedEx to allow 3rd party shipping with their account. You clearly haven't been paying attention or aren't comprehending what appears to be obvious to so many others.

Colin this guy was far from dumb, he has a really bad attitude, but is well informed when it comes to FEDEX policy. David on the other hand tried to give me some BS excuse and suggested I go to another drop off spot. That is not exactly the type of customer service I expect from a legit opperation! In that instance my wife and I had to resolve the issue with FEDEX ourselves. If I use my own verified account then I know there will be no hassles and I am cool with paying a little more so I can drop my animals off in a few minutes rather than spending 45 min. haggling with a guy who is a stickler for the rules.

Re: Repster Shipping Feedback
I have shipped with Reptster many times, and have have never had any problems. I have saved my customers a lot of money. I will be going through their site for all of my reptile shipping. I also highly recommend them to anyone shipping reptiles.

Re: Repster Shipping Feedback
okay, well i'm not afraid to admit when i'm wrong... today i'm officially done with reptster.
i'm still waiting on my fedex certification, so i go to reptsters site to ship one more shipment with them and BAM - they ceased shipping operations! they are waiting to roll out UPS shipping, which is probably going to be in 2009.
so now i had to email my customer and tell him we have to wait... ah, this day is so ruined, i'm pissed.

Re: Repster Shipping Feedback
Well, since I cannot even see the thread on Fauna about Reptster, I don't know what's going on or being said over there. I have been overall very happy with the Reptster/FedEx service, and have saved quite a lot of money which I can pass on to my customers. But, I will say that I have shipped using Reptster about a dozen times, and only had 1 issue with FedEx not delivering the package the next day. I called David at Reptster, and he told me he would issue a refund.
Then, I had another problem with Reptster where my account got charged twice for the same shipment. Again, I called David at Reptster and was told my account would be credited.
In both cases, my account did not get credited. After over a month, I posted on the Reptster Forum about it, and got a call the following morning from David. My account was credited and he issued me a check for the double charge as he promised.
My only concern now is, that Reptster pulled the plug on offering the FedEx service without notifying the members, and did not have a solid plan in place to provide UPS service ahead of time. I had shipments ready to go, and this left me and my customers high-and-dry. I lost a considerable amount of money in shipping costs using my own UPS account after I had already collected the shippings charges from my customers based on the Reptster amount.
It seems to me that Gerry (Sscales) who is moderating the Reptster Forum is having to be David's fall guy and taking all the brunt of the members questions and frustrations. David has not even made an effort to post any communication with his customers/members. IMO, having little regard for his members this is not the way to conduct business.

Well, many more complaints have come up.

I don't know whose fault this whole fedex thing is. I would just like to be able to get my money back for the two shipments that I printed labels out for on the morning that the fedex account was apparently deleted 10/27. I went to fedex later that day to drop them off and the packages were refused. One shipment cost me $45.99 and the other was $48.49. The charge went through on my card on 10/30. Since then my calls have gone unanswered, and the voice mail is apparently full.
I have the same issue and have left unanswered voicemails and sent numerous emails.
Unfortunately when it gets near the 30 day mark from the date of the charge I will have to file a fraudulent claim on my credit card to ensure I get reimbursed.
Can I also please be added to the list of people wanting reimbursed and wanting to be contacted immediately please.

Reptster Shipping ID: 2547
Date of Charge: 10/14/08
Amount of Charge: $71.03
Date of first phone call: 10/17 (talked with David)
Date of first email: 10/17 (as instructed)
Date of 2nd email: 10/28
Date of 2nd phone call: 11/3
Date of 3rd and final email: 11/8
Filing CC fraud claim: 11/10
Most credit cards give 30 or 60 days for you to file a fraudulent claim on a charge. My approach and suggestion is that if you do not see a credit on your statement before the 30 or 60 day window (mine is 30 days) then to file a fraud claim. (note, this is even if you have been told by repster that it is in process).
This is the only way to protect the customer 100% from having to pay the charge.
Thanks,
John Dague

We are still owed about $300.00 from reptster when they started. You were able to print labels, but were charged for them even if they did not go out. It was supposed to be resolved MONTHS ago, and still nothing. Lots of check promises and nothing. Oh well, was a phenomenal idea, worked great, but the small technicalities have not been fixed. I really think one day it will be up and running with whichever carrier, just not anytime soon. Hopefully everyones problems will be resolved??

Re: Repster Shipping Feedback
I got an email from David yesterday stating that the credit was processed and should appear on my CC within 72 hours. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the credit and hope it's here before 11/14.....then unfortunately the claim has to go in on my CC.
It was a good concept and had they stayed with fed ex I would have considered continuing to do business (even with the charging fiasco) for the sake of the discount. But with the switch to UPS I'm going back to the fed ex certified route (it's 20 miles closer to my fed ex hub than my UPS hub)
