Wiring Flexwatt

For my new rack, how does one go about wiring more than one strip together for convenience for a thermostat?

I tried to ask Rich at RBI but I think he misunderstood me and told me it was extremely difficult and now I'm lost.

Rich will wire flexwatt for me to a single wire. What I'm trying to figure out is how to wire multiple flexwatt strips to a single plug.

Rich will wire flexwatt for me to a single wire. What I'm trying to figure out is how to wire multiple flexwatt strips to a single plug.

Wire them in parallel. The flexwatt has a rail down each side. You want to connect all the right sides to one wire, and all the left sides to the other wire. As long as you use a heavy wire, this will be electrically very similar to the uncut flexwatt.

I scrape the coating off the end of each rail with a sharp knife, then apply a little solder to each rail-end. The flexwatt can be attached to the rack at this point or after the next step.

I cut short pieces of wire, tin one end with solder, and solder the tinned end of each short wire to each flexwatt rail.

I attach these short wires to long wires that will bring in the power by exposing some wire and wrapping and soldering the short wire to the long.
If you slice two rings into the long wire about 1/4" apart and shave the insulation between the rings, you can neatly peel off the insulation and expose just enough wire to solder the short wire to. Never put your finger in the path of the blade.

Connect the long wires to the thermostat. The polarity of the plug doesn't matter.
