got my first bp, some breeding related questions

hi everyone, my name is shaughn and im new here. i just got my first bp after wanting one since i was about 8 (im 19 now). i was worried at first because i read how they sometimes refuse to eat, but when i put the first mouse in her feeding tub she ate it with no problem. my question is do you need a license to breed bps? my little girl has a long way to go but i do see myself breeding them in the future because i love these reptiles in every way. she was from a normal male to a spider female so i plan on getting a spider male to match up with her once shes up to weight. thanks!

I don't know of any state that requires a license to breed.Is your girl a normal or a spider. Post some pics.

You don't need a license for your pets to lay eggs or to sell the babies. A normal that is produced from a spider does not have any spider genetics in it, so, when you are ready, you can breed it to whatever you want. Breeding it to a spider won't do anything special.

Edit: I hope you didn't pay extra because is is a spider sibling.

For recessive traits, the animal has to be carrying two copies of the gene to show that trait.

For dominant traits, the animal only has to carry one to show the trait.

Short answer is NO, she has no spider genes if she is a normal.

But if you bred a spider female to your male normal, you would still get spider babies, because the trait is dominant.

Congrats! A normal female is a good starting point. When she is up to breeding size you could easily pickup a dominant or co-dominant mate and make any sort of babies you like.
