    Question Is this normal?

My BP ate last night and tonight hes been VERY active... burrowing under his aspen, moving his hides around. I'm just wondering if this is normal? The first time he ate (last tuesday) he was in his hide for 2 days, with the exception of coming out to drink every once in a while.

You might not have fed him a large enough mouse...he is probably still active because he is still hungry so there is no need for him to just digest and be curled up under the hide for a couple days this time...just my opinion

How thick is your substrate? He may be trying to get to more heat if the aspen is to thick and the heat isnt penetrating the aspen.

Yeah, something's up. He's been up all day... roaming around his cage, climbing his wooden log... So I guess when we feed him Saturday we'll try a medium sized mouse. Any other possibilities as to what's going on with him? His temps are perfect and the humidity stays around 40-50 constantly. He does have mites. Could this be what is keeping him out and about? We ordered the provent-a-mite a few days ago to remedy the issue. It turns out the place we got Asar from had a mite problem the week before we got him. >_< I really wish there was a reputable snake breeder around here!

i would say thats a good reason to be stressed out hence constant roaming.you should soak him in warm water while you fully clean his tank.switch over to newspaper until you get the mites under control.

also if you cant find a good breeder maybe try looking in the classifieds here on bp.net.there is plenty of breeders on here that would be happy to sell you healthy snakes.shipping is usually 50 bucks(down side of buying online) but its about the same as a vet visit if you buy a unhealthy snake from a sub-par breeder locally.

OKAY, so we fed Asar another small mouse earlier, and he gobbled it up no problem. He went into his hide, after a drink or two of water. So we're all good there. Would it be a bad idea to take him out when/if he starts moving around again, to put him in a luke-warm bath while we clean his cage? We have newspaper and want to sterilize the hides/branch/waterbowl. Or should we wait a day or two?

If he has a full belly....I would leave him alone for at least 24 hours minimum. He should be find until tomorrow, you can give him a soak in luke warm water tomorrow. Mites are stressfull enough for the poor little guy...let him digest so you dont have to clean up regurge
