Don't know if I can do anymore shows

Apparently little man missed me A LOT!!!!!

Since we got back from Daytona last Wednesday he's been all about daddy or papa..... He never liked to lay down to get his diaper chanced, he will run from Mom but will come and lay in front of me.

Mom cannot give him food or juice, papa has to.

Mom cannot brush his teeth or put bubbles in his bath, papa has to.

Mom cannot read him his book good night, papa has to.

I'm not sure if he's walked more than two steps in the last week without holding onto my finger.

Moms starting to get a bit jealous, but I'm loving it

Picture taken this past weekend at the farmers market.

Nothing better than fatherhood, love the little guy to death!!!!!

And of course I'll be doing a ton more shows. I am going to miss Tampa this year as we just bought a new house up in Ohio and will be moving in this month.

Wow, he's getting so big, Neil!

Bummer we won't see you in Tampa next month. Congrats on the new house. Did you sell the one here yet?

Re: Don't know if I can do anymore shows

Awwww Neil that's so cute. He's a handsome young guy too! I bet you and your wife are awfully proud of him.

Glad to hear you're heading our way. How far from Toledo, OH will you be if you don't mind me asking?

Tell your wife from me that this is just practise for the day that he suddenly won't let her in the bathroom anymore, or kiss him in public and starts with the eyerolling "mooooooooooom" stuff. That's a heartbreaker but they have to grow up and away from us sometime. Enjoy him while he's so little, they grow up in the blink of an eye.

I don't know if you like country music but you'll likely appreciate this song by Rodney Atkins called Watching You...

Drivin’ through town just my boy and me
With a “Happy Meal” in his booster seat
Knowin’ that he couldn’t have the toy ‘til his nuggets were gone.
A green traffic light turned straight to red
I hit my brakes and mumbled under my breath.
His fries went a flyin’, and his orange drink covered his lap
Well, then my 4 year old said a 4 letter word
It started with “S” and I was concerned
So I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to talk like that?”

    Chorus:
He said, I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that kool?
I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We got cowboy boots and camo pants
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad
I want to do everything you do.
    So I’ve been watching you.

We got back home and I went to the barn
I bowed my head and I prayed real hard
Said, “Lord, please help me help my stupid self.”
Just this side of bedtime later that night
Turnin’ on my son’s Scooby-doo nightlight.
He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees.
He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
Spoke to God like he was talkin’ to a friend.
And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”

    Chorus:
He said, I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that kool?
I’m your buckaroo; I want to be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We like fixin’ things and holding moma’s hand
Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad.
I want to do everything you do; so I’ve been watching you.

With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug.
Said, “My little bear is growin’ up.”
And he said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do.”

    Chorus:
‘cause I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that kool?
I’m your buckaroo; I want to be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
By then I’ll be strong as superman
We’ll be just alike, hey, won’t we dad
When I can do everything you do.
    ‘cause I’ve been watchin’ you.

You know why he's doing that, because mom will be embarrassing him for the rest of his life! I'll be 25 in two months and my mom still feels the need to call me my "nick name in public and loud!" not to mention she's still sooo protective. i own a home and she still tries to make my bed! Geeesh!

Nothing like moms, but Nothing like dads! if that makes sense!

Your doing a great job Neil!

    Neil,

He has to be the most adorable little boy! So you're Papa, not Daddy? I like that, actually!

Awwww Neil! He's just the handsome-est little boy!! You must be so proud! I can't believe I missed you entirely at Daytona! How did that happen??? Better not happen again! Hopefully there will be many more shows together in the future!

I wish you all the best with that coming move. Cross-country moves are SUCH a pain the butt...but usually worth all the trouble in the end.

(Jo...remind me to bill you for an extra box of tissue....you've got me all weepy over here!)

Neil, your son has the most kind eyes! I think it's unusual for such a wee one to show such empathy already. Very much the cutie!!
