I doubt its as accurate as they are saying it is. My advice is to save up another 30 bucks and go with a ranco or johnson control. Or even better put together about a hundred bucks and go with a helix. My .02

Its not as accurate as they say. I bought one for a home made baby rack with back heat. It did a good job for the most part. Kept the air temps for the most part where they were to be at. The only thing I didnt like about it was it didnt last that long. I think maybe six months. I just today got a new one in to replace the one pictured. A different brand but pretty much the same thing. I have used the black ones kind of like the one pictured and have had no trouble with them. Some I have had in use for five years. They still work as good as they did the day I got them. If you have the cash Id go with a Helix or something like that. So my .02 is that the one pictured is junk. Yeah it did get the job done. But didnt last that long. If you are going to go with a cheaper thermostat. Then I would use one of the of these. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/...at-with-probe/
Like I said I have used these for years and have had no trouble with them. They do take some time to get dialed in. But get the job done.

I guess I need to start checking the date of when posted. Got in a bit late on this one.

In my opinion they are another chepo Made in Tawain/China piece of garbage.

When I first started keepeing snake I went through 3 of them in less than 2 months, they were extremely inaccuate and at the end the bad experience I got a Ranco which still works fine today(many years later). In the long run the Ranco was cheaper because I didnt have to keep replacing it.

I found that the Chinese ones come in several different name brands(depending on who subcontracted them) and colors or stickers but are essentially the same pet store cheapo T-stat.

The you get what you pay for motto comes to mind everytime I think about thermostats. There's a reason a Helix runs for 100+ dollars and people have no problem buying them. Its the reliability of the components and manufacturer that deem the higher price tag that people are willing to pay. Not to mention the piece of mind that knowing your collection is protected to the best of your abilities.
