Snake Reacting to Mouse Blood in Enclosure

So i tried to feed my Ball a F/T Hopper last night. I notice that the mouse's nose was bleeding on my aspen bedding that i use. So after waiting half an hour for my snake to bite, i got frustrated and offered him a F/T fuzzy instead. It only took him less than 5 seconds for him to bite and coil the fuzzy. Once he was done though, he ended up climbing on top of his hide and have his head pointed in a striking position to where the hopper's mouse blood was at on the aspen bedding. He stayed on top of the hide in that position all night. Has anybody experience this with blood being on the snakes bedding?.

well ever since i fed him in his enclosure he seems really stressed. He use to just hide and just peak out every now and then but now, he's always coiled on top of one of his hides and will react to me if i move a bit. I'm honestly scared to go and grab him because of this since he never was like this. Do you think its because I'm not giving him a big enough meal? I fed him hoppers a few times but he struggled one time eating the mouse tail first and ever since then, he refuses to bite. He has no problems with fuzzy mice

you can feed it fuzzies, if it still acts hungry then feed it another one....

I got some blood on the paper towels in my corn snake's enclosure. She rubbed her nose on it until I replaced it.

    Kinda amusing actually.

Can anyone give me an idea as to why my snake likes to chill on top of his Cool Side hide instead of inside? Anyone have a similiar experience?

I have two UTH connected to two thermostats. The Hot is set at 93 so its around 92-93 all day and the cool side is set at 83 and it changes to around 81-84 and the Humidity is at 60 so i think the temps are good. I use two Acurite thermometers that everybody swears by on this site to measure both sides to get the exact temperature. I use 4 inch plastic flower pots as hides and he loved them for about a week but then now he just chills on top of the cool side hide ever since i tried feeding him that hopper mouse and some of its blood dropped on the aspen bedding. He even seems jumpy of my presence now.

Is the hide to big or too small for the snake? Sounds like your temps are fine so it probably just likes the conditions in that area. Its probably using the hides more than you think.
