    Re: Help

I dont know if im being silly, but dont you rest it on the tank lid. Presuming it's a screen top?

If you dont want it touching the screen, then take a piece of hardboard, and cut a hole in it big enough for the lamp housing to rest on and put that on top of the screen.

Really hope im not missing something here

    Re: Help

The tank in that link says it has a mesh top, right? Wouldn't that be the wire top, not glass?

    Re: Help

    Ok, first off CALM DOWN.

The tank you got is a good one with a slide/lock SCREEN top. Very good for snakes. I can help you out with setting it up, but I'll have to PM you my setup list since it's rather long.

Rather than a bulb, which suck out humidity and aren't really a proper source for main heating, you need an Under Tank Heating pad or Flexwatt heat tape and a thermostat. Snakes, BPs especially, fair best getting their heat from below.
But if you wanted to use a lamp for viewing or ambient air temp boosts, then you would suspend it 8-12" above the lid and use no higher than a 50watt bulb.

I'll send that list to ya ASAP.
