I need some advice on issuing refunds..

Not that I owe anyone one However if something were to happen during shipping one of my geckos ( hopefully it doesn't). I would be more than happy to issue the buyer a refund, however I am not sure about the shipping charges.

Do you refund the shipping charges, or would you if something happened?

Or just what was paid for the animal itself?

In the case of sending a replacement animal I'd pay shipping, but I would much rather just issue a refund to someone given they have sent pics and I am convinced it is indeed my animal that passed.

    Thanks for any input!

Re: I need some advice on issuing refunds..

I think I would refund them the entire animals cost. Shipping and the price of the animal. First I would like to be 100% positive the animal died in transit or because it was something I did. I would require them to send the animal back (at my cost), photographs of the deceased animal, or a necropsy (at my cost). Whichever is appropriate for the situation.

In my opinion, since we are the shippers we are responsible, unless the carrier had delays or the recipient demanded I ship in extreme weather. However, I refuse to ship in extreme conditions, so, I don't think I will run into that anytime soon.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you that does help. Thats kind of what I was thinking too.

I want to be more than fair if a situation were to arise. I have seen way to many people just get ripped off by others and it bugs me.

    My policy is...

If something happens during shipping, I cover ALL of it. If something happens within a reasonable time after delivery, it goes on a case by case basis.
