I'm building a hatchlingrack and wondering about how to heat it...
How do you do it?
I've heard that some breeders don't heat them at all, just keep the in a 80 F room??

I know VPI don't use heat, except for pregnant females, but most people use flexwatt heat tape controlled by a thermostat and taped to each shelf under the tubs.

we dont have flex watt over here but we have heat mats... So I'm thinking of heat mats or heat cable as back heat, what do you think?

Any other with no-heat experience?

If you keep your room temps up over 80 F, you should be able to use some UTHs for back heat. Can you order a roll of Flexwatt from RB in the U.S.?

Well I think I need to set a few things straight .
Flewatt heat tape is available in 4" 11" 17" in 240 volt which will work in the UK . The connections when made properly are as safe as any connections can be . The crimp connectors are rated for 10 amps and are approved by UL and Nemko. Calorique will soon have a distributer in Holland for the European market with approvals to IEC 60335 and will carry the CE mark. My herp room is heated to 82-83F constantly, my hatchling rack doesn't use any heat, and I've had it that was forever, the 6 ball pythons I have in it do really well, and grow just like those on a heated rack.
