Yeah, I was very happy to see they had switched over to heat pads instead of the bulb they were using.

My friend said his little brother was misting the cage daily - but with a 50gal screen top with no cover there really wouldn't be any point in misting - anything sprayed into that cage would have dried in under 5-10 min.

I was happy to see he was in such good shape though! I guess I don't think I really consider this a rescue since the only problem was bad husbandry and his mom just wanted someone to take it since it wasn't being cared for any more - my last rescue was/has been a big pain so I'm very happy to get off easy this time!

Hopefully my sister can take him on! She is bipolar but is becoming better at controlling herself, she has been doing a good job with her 2 cats and helps me out with my snakes sometimes so we'll see how it works out (if this was 2 years ago I wouldn't consider letting her care for the snake, but she has started to take on more responsibility and is higher functioning than she was before). If it doesn't look like she can handle the little guy I'll find him a new home or maybe even keep him for myself, he seems like a really sweet snake.
