Im trying to set up my new ranco 111000 and I was just wondering what differential everyone sets thier thermostat at, theres a setting of 1-5 degrees....
You always want to set the t-stat to give you the right temps inside. Tweak the numbers until the thermometer reading is where you want the temps. There often will be a difference in what the stat reads and what the thermometer reads, but the thermometer is the one you pay attention to. If you have a temp gun, use that as well to double check temps inside under the hide on the floor of the enclosure.
Also, if you find TOO much of a difference in numbers, you might have too much substrate in the cage. You want the floor of the warm side to be around 92-94 and the surface of the substrate only a few degrees cooler.
