    If you use a Ranco thermostat help plz

    Im trying to set up my new ranco 111000 and I was just wondering what differential everyone sets thier thermostat at, theres a setting of 1-5 degrees....

    I go 1 degree. That is how much the temps wil flucuate.

    My actual temp is 93 but my thermostat reads 112, Im using it on a tank so its taped to the under side of my UTH

    You always want to set the t-stat to give you the right temps inside. Tweak the numbers until the thermometer reading is where you want the temps. There often will be a difference in what the stat reads and what the thermometer reads, but the thermometer is the one you pay attention to. If you have a temp gun, use that as well to double check temps inside under the hide on the floor of the enclosure.

    Also, if you find TOO much of a difference in numbers, you might have too much substrate in the cage. You want the floor of the warm side to be around 92-94 and the surface of the substrate only a few degrees cooler.
