QT your Rodents?

Alright, the thought just came up. I have ALOT of snakes on the way, and currently have ALOT of baby rats. Im going to hold back most of my females, but, that will take three months before they are breeding age. This weekend I am going female rat shopping, so I have time before the snakes get here to QT them. The question is how? Ive got a fairly large rack, yet no other means to house them. I want to keep them in the top bin, is that good enough? How do YOU qt your rats if you do? It would be fairly expensive if I lost all my rats because of one bad rat. Im not sure where im going to get them, im thinking about getting them from a new petco from me. They are one of the Way better ones and ive had rats from there before.

I quarantine any new rodent for 30 days, I treat for mites upon arrival as well.

QT to me means different enclosure, different room (even for rodents). I just cannot take the risk to lose my colony.

This is what I use to quarantine my rats and I use a smaller version for mice.

As of right now, no.
I'm not bringing in any new rodents for my colony.
As well as it's extremely small right now.. and it wouldn't be a mass devastation anyway.. (I have plenty of f/t)..

I quarantine the beejebus out of any rodent coming into my home. The more you know, the higher the stakes are...

I've been pretty hesitant about bringing in ANY new rats, or even going near my colony if I've even been to a pet store....

I will definitely be quarantining if we bring anything else in. I'm currently having the oh so joyous experience of treating over 200 rats of all sizes for rat lice...that came in on 5.

You too? If I go into petco or petsmart I put myself into QT before going near my snakes and rodents

As it turns out, I will not be going female rat shopping.
I sexed all of my pinks and fuzzys and came up with over 30 females! Way better than my last two females out of 15. Im just going to f/t the heck out of my offspring and use those for a small while.
