What about lizard or invertebrate eating snakes? There's also people that feed bird prey, bunnies, guinea pigs. Some snakes even eat other snakes.
What I've been trying to say, is it's often in the best interest of our captive animals to give them a wide range of foods. This guy clearly chose to take it to heart. I don't think we really have a right to be offended when we feed our snakes what other people consider "pets".
It's nature.
