The frequency of BP pee?
I've been checking her substrate every day, and I'm not noticing any wet spots (or the while urates). I was just curious, how often should my BP be peeing?
Kind of silly question, but one I'm curious about...

Re: The frequency of BP pee?
Depends on the age and intake. Young ones pee more often than older ones; usually every week for youngsters (fed once weekly) and much longer for heavier snakes.

The smaller the frequency the larger the amplitude!
If mine don't go for a while, I'll wake up one day and it will be the Great Flood in their tub.

With my 400 gram females it seems to be twice a week.

Re: The frequency of BP pee?
I've had my BP for a little over a week, and no pee. At all. She's eaten, I've seen her drink (I was hiding around the corner, being all ninja-like). Should I be worried if she still hasn't peed?
I mean, my dog pees 7 times a day!
Snakes are amazing, and I keep learning new things about them. I just want to make sure that the lack of pee isn't something I should be concerned about. Is there a point at which I should take her to the vet over this? Am I nearing that point? She appears otherwise healthy (no mites, lively flickering tongue, no mouth goop, clean vent, etc.).
She's probably just waiting for me to handle her...

Re: The frequency of BP pee?
One of the best pieces of advice I got early on in my snake keeping days... this is guaranteed to make a snake urinate/defecate.
Put on your best outfit... pick up snake... VOILA!!! Elimination!
Or had the snake to your most uptight friend or relative (I prefer to use relatives myself). VOILA!!! Elimination.
Seriously... do not worry. The snake will pass fluids when it is time. If you see her/him drinking, then you are good.
Watch the paper... (if you're using paper)... it gets wrinkly looking... they pee a lot more than you know. If using a substrate such as aspen you will not see it as much.
But they can flood an enclosure... if the snake is on top of the hide.... I check for presents inside the hide.

Re: The frequency of BP pee?

Sometimes it's very hard to detect urates in aspen, especially with a young snake. There is a good chance that you're just missing them....
