    Wont Absorb Yolk

I had a thread earlier about this hatchling being a little dry and I took the advice off putting some warm water in the egg. But its been three days now for this baby, 3 others have already pipped, completely absorbed their yolk, and are out of the egg and all of these pipped after this baby. The python seems semi-active and will even extend its body across the tub. I can see the yolk sac still in the egg and the snakes cord seems attached as far as I can tell. Do you think i should remove the snake and the yolk and place them on some soaked paper towels or maybe even some shallow water to get it to absorb? I'm really worried and it's one of my pastels. Please help.

Just leave it alone for a few days. I have some like that every year. it will come out when its ready. Could have been twins in there at the start.

Well all the fluid that's supposed to keep the yolk moist leaked out through slits on the egg made by another baby when it pipped so I'm worried the yolk be absorbed at all. So I guess my second question is, can the yolk absorb without all the fluid?

Just keep the yolk moist. Take it out of the egg if you want and put it in a bin with wet paper towels. The yolk can dry up at this point. just worry about the umbilical getting dried out .
