SK Axanthics "Dark Phase" vs "Light Phase"

Hey everyone, I am considering an SK axanthic. I wasn't really looking to start up the whole VPI vs SK debate, but if anyone has any strong feelings on the matter, please share them.

What I really wanted to ask was if anyone had any first hand experience with what the Graziani's call "Dark Phase" vs "Light Phase" SK axanthics. The dark phase look darker and the light phase look lighter, not surprisingly.

I've heard from one person that the lighter may look better as hatchlings, but the dark look better as adults.

I'm trying to find the picture of the two, I thought I saw it on Graziani's website but I can't find it now.

Anyone have any thoughts on the darker vs lighter SK axanthics?? Thanks!

Dave and Tracy Barker have pic's of all the axanthic lines in there book, A really dark SK adult really got my attention. I think there cool they didn't label it's phase though.

There are two that I know of... The Charcoal and the _____(I can't recall at the moment).

The Charcoal is a darker line, which gets darker with age.

The other is a lighter line, and it is a nice grey tone, but very subtle the older it gets.

I have the lighter line, but intend to get both at some point.

    Thanks for that information, everyone!

That picture of the dark one really caught my eye in the Barker's book as well! The only downside was that I was thinking of mixing it into a clown project, and perhaps there it would be best to stick with the lighter axanthic?

Well, the current living axanthic clown is from the lighter line.. It would be interesting for the darker one, but it depends on how you want to make it look yourself...
