Getting BP from Maryland to Germany?

    Hey,

I'm new to the site, so please bear with me. I have a wonderful ball python, Emmitt, and I'd like to keep him till he passes. However, my father is in the military and we have orders to go to Germany in two months. I've done some research and found out that no airlines, whatsoever, allows reptiles in the cabin. They allow, cats and dogs, but no snakes.

I've done some research and found that Germany has no problems bringing snakes into the country.

My only dilemma is trying to figure out how I can bring him along with me.

Also, we're stayin in Texas for a week to visit my Grandmother.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Please do not suggest giving him away.

    Thanks,

    Steph

    Hi,

Actually Germany will have a problem unless you get the cites paperwork needed to both export from America and import into germany.

It might be a good idea to talk to some breeders in both countries to clarify what you need to do.

If it were me I would see about possible having a breeder at either side and have the snake shipped between the two.

Hopefully someone with actual hands on experience of this will be able to jump in and advise you.
