listen i am just as big of a hulkamaniac as anyone else, but seriously, he drank, drove extremely fast and almost killed his friend. he is getting off EASY in my opinion.

Well, we don't really. Even though it was foolish behavior, it was an accident. The passenger was permanently injured not killed. This kid is only 17 years old. I joined the Army in 1969 in very turbulent times at his age and did plenty of reckless stuff (much more than this kid) and I realize just how young age 17 is. I fail to understand the jubilation being shown at this tragedy by so many. Is it simply that he was born into money that causes this reaction?

His friend was killed true. But now he's a veggie if I remember correctly.

I had not realized that he was drinking too. That does change my opinion on the situation a bit.

He was drinking but it was like .05... Im not trying to defend him but that little bit of alcohol in your system wont do much of anything... What parent lets their 17 yr old son drive a viper or a suped up supra is beyond me. I know if I had either one of those at 17 I probably would have been in the same situation, except I dont let people ride in my car w/o wearing a seatbelt... Thank god for the 92' taurus

My dad owned a '94 srt10 viper for a few years and when I was 16 he let me drive it. I can honestly say that I did not speed once or do anything reckless while I was driving it. I think it all depends on whether the parents established boundaries. To this day I have not had a single ticket or been in a single accident.

Actually I don't think you can honestly say, "well his blood/alchohol level was X amount and it doesn't do anything...."

because you cannot that particular amount did not affect his reaction/judgement skills.

From what I understand his passenger was a 23 year old marine. That doesn't absolve this kid, but when a GROWN MAN makes a stupid decision like riding around with a kid that's been drinking there's bound to be some consequences at one point or another. They were both stupid.

8 months?!? i heard it was 8 years. just goes to show if you or your daddy is a cleb them you can pretty much get away with murder.
