    Pics from the SWHS show

So I spent about an hour and a half at the Southwestern Herp Society show this morning. Saw some cool animals, and talked to some really cool people. I took pictures of almost all the animals; here's the photobucket album:

No problem. It was my first show, I really enjoyed it. My favorite animal was the albino cobra, man what a cool looking snake!

Re: Pics from the SWHS show

Yeah, only one member had hots. One of the organizers works with hots, mostly cobras. He does some work in Sri Lanka that sounded pretty cool. Anyways, this guy was telling me that they didn't want members to bring hots because their goal is to help people like snakes and reptiles more, not scare them.

They only had two displays with hots at the show. One was the table with the Gila monster, beaded lizard, rhinoceros viper, pit viper, albino cobra, and a coral snake. These animals belonged to Joel Almquist from the Forever Wild exotic animal sanctuary. He rescued the animals from a house in Hisperia, along with 200+ various other reptiles. I guess the owner abandoned his collection for unknown reasons and his neighbors called animal control, who then contacted Joel to come get the snakes.

The other hot display was someone from the Parks department I think. They had some local species of rattlesnakes on display, along with some cal kings and gopher snakes. Both of the hot booths were chained off, and I didn't see either of the owners leave their booths during the whole show.
