my bp is lethargic and won't eat

ok so my male 2 y/o het orange has always been a hearty eater. i was out of town for a couple of weeks and i came back to find him unusually skinny and very lethargic. today was the first time he has ever refused a meal. he had no interest whatsoever in the mouse i put in his tub. i took it out after about 10 minutes. usually he tries to strike at the mouse before i even drop it in his tank. he doesn't appear to have any sores on him. the temps and humidity are perfect too. what could be the cause of this? what can i do in the meantime before i get a chance to take him to a vet?

Who was watching him while you were gone? Was he fed while you were gone? Does he look dehydrated? Maybe you can snap a pic. A vet ASAP is your best bet but I don't know of anything you can do now except keep the enclosure exceptionally warm, and leave him alone. Hopefully there is some better advice others can give you.

Just being gone for 2 weeks would not produce unusual skinniness if your snake did not eat those two weeks.
If his skin is kind of loose and hanging, that might be an indication of dehydration.
In all, no one here is qualified to suggest anything beyond recommending a vet appt for your snake as soon as you can given that the snake seems to have gone downhill very rapidly.
I would urge you to not wait until you have a chance, but rather to get your snake to a vet ASAP.

If his skin is kind of loose and hanging, that might be an indication of dehydration.
this could also mean he is in the shed process.last night i watched my bp shed and i got freaked out pretty badly.i couldnt really see wat was goin on so i lifted the plant he was using to rub on and seen the skin around the belly was hanging and looked like a 1000 year old man.couldnt sleep a wink but wen i got up this morning i checked him out and a all good

Unusually skinny and lethargic are not indications of shed, though they could be indications of dehydration- among other things.
Glad to hear that your snake shed out nicely! Always good
