How often.....
do YOU take out your eggs, check on them, candle them, etc?
I haven't really messed with mine since they were first popped into the incubator, but I do wonder if candling once a week to watch the growth process would be too invasive?
More of a way of learning first hand how they develop is my interest. Or do you check them once every couple of weeks, etc?
I've not done more than just open the 'bator once a day for a cursory look to make sure the egg boxes aren't sweating, that the eggs are still plump and temps are good.

Re: How often.....
I usually let my tubs breathe once a week in the beginning. I believe I did it every 2-3 days towards the end.
I was always too scared to mess with the tubs, so mostly just left them alone. I'm looking forward to candling them more often this time around.

Re: How often.....
Robin, with only one clutch hatched so far (100% hatch rate though) you know my hands on experience is limited. Be that as it may, this is what we did.
We aired the hatching box every three or four days for just a minute. At that time we quickly looked over the eggs. Every week or so we candled the eggs just to watch and learn what occurs throughout the incubation process. At day 45 we started airing the box daily and removed the press n seal from under the hatching box lid at that time. At day 52 we cut the eggs.
We did that with Ardra's clutch and that's what we're currently doing with Dori's clutch (which you'll be happy to know is being cut this coming Monday!)

Re: How often.....
I mostly leave them - but there are some it seems like I check on every day - open them up candle them, etc. I know the batch that went to my sons class were constantly messed with measured, weighed, candled, etc. - but it didn't seem to have any negative effects on the eggs.

I’m guessing Jas just leaves them alone until day 20. Then he cuts them all to see what he is getting.
