Video of my rat breeding racks.

Here are two of my rat breeding racks. Im going to be building two more when I get the time. They have been great so far. Much easier to clean, they dont waste any of the food like before. I went with the water bottles instead of a watering system. Because I dont have 100 tubs. If I had a bunch of tubs I would have went with some type of watering system. Thanks for looking.

Its not the best video for some reason didnt come out that good. Anyways here it is thanks for watching.

I watched this last night, but my post never posted LOL. Looks like a good set up, although I don't like communal nursing for myself, it does get the job done. I couldnt imagine filling up those water bottles all the time, I hate having to fill up 4 bottles I have now, much less 10 more.

Re: Video of my rat breeding racks.

The nursing isnt that bad the moms dont fight over the babies. Most of the time 3 females will have 3 litters. They will make 2 piles of babies. Two of the mothers will nurse. The other one waits until one of the other mothers leave the pile then they move in and take over. Almost as if she is giving the other a break. Most of my females do that not sure why. I do have a few that will fight over the babies. Or take babies from the other. When they have the babies I move mom and babies into a tank.

The water bottles arent that bad. I only have 12. The building that the racks are in is an old dog bording kennle. Right behind me in the video there is a big groomers tub. I have a hose on it I just grab it fill a bottle and move onto the next. Not even like 5 min to water all of them. Not bad and I dont have to worry about anything getting plugged up or any floods. Or I should say any big floods. So far its been working great. I think Im going to get started on the other two racks today. Well thanks for watching.

I do 3 to 4 weeks then I take away from mom. Most of thoses bigger babies got taken away from mom yesterday or today. 3 Weeks if they seam to be eating fine. 4 if they are a bit smaller or not eating at 3.
