    question on feeding

    I fed my ball python yesterday and he may have ate a few pieces of substrate will that effect his digestion. He may not have even eaten any will he be able to still pass everything?

    what kind of substrate if its just wood shavings he should be fine sand could cause a problem

    Its fir bark from repti bark. The bark may have fell off when it got towards his mouth. Not sure though.

    There is a small risk of impaction when feeding on any loose substrate, but a few pieces here or there shouldn't hurt him.

    when my bp was just a youngin he would occasionaly snag a piece of coconut husk bark, happened a few times

    no problems, almost 2 years strong!

    Thanks for the responces, Ill feel better though when Im sure hes not impacted. Got him on Sunday,He shed on Monday and ate on Tuesday. So Im pretty happy as far as that. I think hes hungry again though.
