    bp acting strange..

Hazard my 500g pastel male has been acting very strange the last couple days. His temps and humidity are spot on (88 warm side 52% humidity) he has newspaper as substrate in his rack, he also has typical water dish and plastic hide. the last several days however he has been oddly active, moving around his hide which is unusual for him. I have offered food to him and hes uninterested in eating (ate just over a week ago) but still very alert and active. Is that the "norm"? We have checked for mites and thats not it either. when we open his drawer he pops his head right up like you would expect a dog to.

    ideas?

He's active during the day? Is that the only thing that new is him being too active? Strange, any shed coming? When was the last time he pooped?

    Just throwing around ideas.

yes, him being more active is the only thing that is new...

he had urates/poo about 9 days ago i would say, he "could" be coming close to a shed its been about 4-5wks since his last one. He has been more active earlier than later. for instance this am at 7am he was in his hide but still popped his head out to say hi, last night at 8pm he was very active, hes just been more active earlier than usual, usually house lights are off around 1030-11pm and its shortly after that everyone is out and about..could be nothing

my ball has been most active ever since I've gotten him...He finally escaped last nite and I found him in a box at 8 am this morning. I put him back in his viv and all he wants to do get out again....weird. I've never seen him out and about ever during the day. Hes usually very elusive

    Re: bp acting strange..

    Hi..
Mine has been active day n nite also, I think she may be uncomfortable with the uth I put under her cool side, she likes the cool side & never goes to the warm side, as she seems to not like it too warm, so I took the uth out & adjusted her heat lamp & then she hopefully will be back to normal.
Maybe they know spring is in the air & just wanna go out & roam in the grass!! LOL
    Good luck!

Thats what I was thinking was maybe the spring might trigger them to go out for a bit. They are all still wild and have that amazing instinct! lol. There is also a possibility for a shed though. So ya never know. Just keep us updated

    Re: bp acting strange..

Im not gonna lie, my little spider has always been pretty active but the past week he has not stopped crawling and climbing. Usually restlessness during the day is a sign of stress caused by poor husbandry but mine is spot on. He hasn't had food in 2 weeks though so maybe he's just really hungry ha. Feeding day is saturday...
