help urgent!!
Just fed my bp, his first rat, yay he took it!! BUT the rat gave him a kinda nasty bite on the neck that broke the skin, I am wondering how to treat it? Can I take care of it myself by washing it with some water and putting neosporin on it or what? Thanks! I think I should probably let him digest first, so maybe I can look at the bite in a few days and see how it does, I dont want to mess with him and make him regurge. Any advice, thanks!!

Re: help urgent!!
I had a very similar experience with a mouse bite to my girl's neck. I gave her 24 hours to digest, then applied a small amount of triple antibiotic ointment (generic neosporin) to the wound. Just make sure you use the kind withOUT pain killer in it. Just keep applying a small amount of ointment twice a day until it at least scabs over. After a few sheds, the scar from the wound will be barely noticeable...

You don't really have to wait a day or 2. You can move your snake with food in it's belly, just don't move it too much. I used to feed out of the enclosure and move my snake back right afterwards. I brought my snake home from the pet store the day he ate. Just be gentle, clean his neck, and you should be ok.
