ASF on Mazuri 6f

Simple question...

Mazuri 6F for ASF's... a few carrots, a few cabbage leaves thrown in. Does anyone think this stuff isn't good for ASF colony?

That is fine...except of the cabbage the high water content could lead to wet tail. Occasionally sure but not as staple part of their diet.

Our ASF's do like a bit of greens to nibble on occasionally. I don't use cabbage or head lettuce though do to what Sean said about high water content and basically it just goes through them like grain through a goose. I usually get stuff like collard, mustard or turnip greens cheap as dirt at a local small grocery store here. They love it but I only give it as a treat type thing. Their standard dry food here is a mix of small cat kibble, mixed grains and nuts (good quality wild bird food mix) and small type no sugar dry cereals.

I would imagine a higher protein count between 18 and 20 would do well for this smaller species.

Just curious why you think this?

Because on asf forums people say that they do well on 18 percent, and smaller animals like hamsters and mice do very well on a 18-20% diet. Mazuri has the mice breeder at 18-20 percent. Just following that...
