    Inverted laying?

do non ovulating females lay inverted? i checked on my girl tonight and found her laying belly up 2/3 down her body, her upper third hanging out like normal ( she was resting ). she's never been bred, and she isnt even old enough nor do i have any intent on it. i just thought it was a common thing with ovulating females, not younger ones. i did feed her yesterday, she got a F/T weaned rat.

am i completely wondering about this over nothing?
    lol

    Re: Inverted laying?

If the rat was comparatively large for the snake, its possible she was lying inverted to relieve pressure (which is why they do it when they're gravid).

it was slightly larger than average ( i was at the bottom of the bag for feeders, and the large or weird laying ones end up there ). it was probably that. i thought she was dieing on me. i should be less paranoid.

    thanks for the info!

    Re: Inverted laying?

If shes never been with a male. Like said It was probably from eating. I have one female thats been doing it alot, but shes been breeding. Sometimes Ive even seen males do it after a big meal. Have been told sometimes males will do it after a long time breeding.
