Cage Post
Can you guys post some pics of your setups here. I was wondering if I could use a tub to keep Bloods in. If any of you guys keep them in tubs I would really appreciate it if you could post those pics.

Oh no! They are very thick/chunky snakes. I know the blood I had was out growing his 41 quart tub at about 6 months of age.
KLG on here posted a picture of one of her older bloods:

Re: Cage Post
Best to look into animal plastics, RBI cages... something roomy but made for reptiles and their needs.
I would also caution, let your snake grow into it, don't throw a baby blood in a huge cage. Bloods can stress out too.

The only tub I've ever seen that would be big enough is one of the christmas tree tubs...however, I feel that the width of the tub is not large enough to give the snake room to comfortably move around in.

Re: Cage Post
I currently have Lillyorchid's blood. He's a little over a year old. 4 feet long. And 7 pounds empty.
I had him in the VE175 christmas tree box as stated above. It was long enough. Just not wide enough for him to turn around in. So I ditched it.
He's currently spending his days in an Animal Plastics T-10. Which is 4x2x15 inches tall. And its perfect.
Its best to give these snakes enough room to turn around in. And long enough for them to stretch out. They're lung is approximately 1/3 of they're body if I remember correctly. And the ability to stretch out helps prevent respiratory infections.
Hope this helps
