    Someone Wants to Hide!

You know I have no idea how a creature without hands or opposable thumbs manages to create the paper castles that Doireann does! She somehow manages to fold, spindle and mutilate every layer of newspaper into the most perfect hide ever seen. LOL

We believe her to be gravid. Her paper castle construction is reaching new highs in complexity of construction and the general destruction of her enclosure.

    Leave me be!

A quick lift of the paper to peek in netted me a very firm "hiss off lady!" type of hiss.

So is there any reason at all for us to be concerned if she lays her eggs directly on the bare bottom of her enclosure. No matter how many sheets of newspaper I put in there, she's not happy lately until she destroys her cage, builds her paper castle and is right on the bare plastic. Silly Dori!

Pretty girl! I've never had one lay directly on the tub before, but I would think the eggs wouldn't adhere.

She's my only mature female that's doing this, Rich. The others are being far more co-operative and staying on their newspaper. Dori's always been "special".

I'd love to lift her and slip more newspaper under her but having tried that in the past, she just digs under that, scrunches it all up and goes back to hissing and glaring at me.
