    Genetics question

    Quick genetics question.

On the NERD website it says that they got their first "Spider: Albino" off breeding "Spider 100% Het Albino (Male) to a Albino (Female).

Ok so here is the question. Does the spider (regardless of sex) have to be 100% Het albino to produce "Spider: Albino's"? Or is it possible to produce "Spider: Albino's" from just plain ol' Spider x Albino breeding?

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Genetics question

The Spider needs to be Het for Albino or a Spider Albino.

    Re: Genetics question

For a recessive trait to show up both parents have to carry the trait.

Wouldn't you know the answer since on your site it says that all the Spider Albinos (Males & Females) have been sold out?

    Re: Genetics question

Well, the oldest snake in their collection is an '06 (and just one of them) and all the rest are '07's - so, I doubt they've started breeding yet (if their collection pages are accurate).

Does "sold out" mean "have never had, but someday hope to"?
