Found this article in an iGoogle gadget... (US burm populations)

    http://www.sciam.com/podcast/episode...E9ECD2C&sc=rss

I can't stand the way this article was written, for obvious reasons. But the main reason I wanted to post it was because of recent news articles popping up about "burmese pythons being able to colonize 1/3 of the US". Apparently, that is a PROJECTION based on what will happen if (and when) global warming is allowed to keep happening. Honestly, global warming causes bigger troubles than this, IMHO.

Well, gee. Given everyone's hysterical fear of snakes, maybe the worry of having giant snakes colonize their backyards will get them to actually DO something about the whole global warming crisis.

    Rising sea levels? Poo.
    Drought/flood? Neh.
    Wildlife habitat dwindling? So what.

Giant snakes? OMGZ, must DO SOMETHING.

NOT that I'm saying this crap is feasible. Just making a point about people's ignorance.

Global warming is a huge scam to scare people... The earth is a few billion years old and we have only been monitoring for a little over 100 years… And for people to base studies on global warming is just going to scare people into taking away our snakes…. I recently read that the 4 climate monitoring stations around the world reported a 3 Degree drop in the last year, but this is not something that hits mainstream because it doesn’t frighten people. I hate the media!!!

Greenland is melting for the first time ever... isn't that enough proof that something is amiss? Not to mention the vanishing glaciers world-wide.

But lets say that it is a scam. What are the proponents 'scamming' people for? A better environment? Healthier living? Cleaner and renewable fuels? It is no secret that the exhaust from cars alone impact the health of people. My Aunt and 2 cousins live in Hong Kong, and the air is so bad that they are on constant medication. After coming back to Canada for just a few days, they don't need their inhalers and they can breath normally.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Yeah sure Greenland is melting and the glaciers have been vanishing long before we arrived on this planet..... All I am saying is you cannot base any studies on the effect of somthing so huge and still know nothing about
