    inverted colors

I was wondering if there are normal bp's with inverted colors. By that I mean the black is gold and the gold is black. I know there are a bunch of morphs I was thinking a normal with inverted colors would be awesome.

Im not really sure, normals come in so many colors that there very well might be.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

As far as black/gold inversion, I don't think so. But there is light/dark inversion, sort of. Albinos (Amelanistic) are white where the black should be, and yellow where the gold/brown should be.

Ive always wondered if anyone would ever produce one. I think it would look sweet, maybe one day someone will stumble across one. until then we can only cross our fingers.

you want the animal gold where it should be black, and black where it is gold?

I'm not sure if that is possible...

I bet along time ago someone said it wasnt possible to make a black and gold snake white and yellow but look what we got today. No one really knows whats really out there til everything is found, which will probably never happen.

I'm just trying to think about this a little closer to the actual pigment cell placement, how they function and so forth. A lot of the morphs we have are dilute effects, muting, stopping of one or another. I'm not all up on science lingo, but I don't know if I make sense... I always think in terms of rats.

What I mean, is the pigment producing cells that put out yellow and red are able to switch over to black.

I'm also not sure of the pigments that BP's have. Yellow, Red, Black... is there a fourth that I'm missing?

I have no idea, I didnt think they actually had red. I know there is a morph in corn snakes that removes the red and supposedly the same morph was found in BPs but didnt do anything. I dunno if thats right or not

    Re: inverted colors

When I think about snake morphs, I like to compare it to rats. (I know, weird)

Anways, the rats are dominantly agouti. The single hair pigment cells will switch back and forth from black to yellow. Giving the hair a banded appearance.

Now, rat pigment cells produce color in a certain chain. eumelanin (black and brown) first, and then phaeomelanin(red and yellow) (not sure on terminology).

I know I'm getting confusing, but I don't know if there would be a way to switch the color the pigment cells produce to the opposite color than they do.

I don't even know if all the pigment cells produce the same colors. I know so little about biology haha. Sorry, I'll just stop now.
