    Mites

I know, I know..another mites thread. Well anyways I thought this would never happen to me since Im anal about my husbandry (wow that doesn't sound right). Anyways I noticed tiny, I mean TINY black bugs on my albino (I would have never seen them on any thing other than an albino). Well all I can think of from where they came from was a bag of aspen I bought at a pet store about 3-4 weeks ago that had a nice size hole in it.

Heres what I did, just looking for opinions as to if I should do anything more..

1.Took all the tubs out of the rack and sprayed PAM on walls, floor of rack.

    2. Dumped all the aspen out of the tubs, cleaned, and sprayed PAM in tubs. Allowed to dry and placed papertowels down as substrate then sprayed some PAM on papertowels and let that dry then placed snakes back in tubs.

    3. Washed water bowls and hides in dishwasher, sprayed hides not water bowls with PAM, let dry, and put back in tubs.

Anything else? Should I soak all the snakes in water for a while? I only noticed them on my albino but being precautionary and assuming they are on the others.

    Re: Mites

Sounds like you're doing everything right. My vet recommended Ivomec which I know alot of people seem to not like much because it's used on cattle as well (not alot of people here seem to know about mixing and or diluting drugs) and I haven't seen one in about a week now. Hopefully the PaM works out by itself. It didn't for me the first time but this time coupled with the Ivomec injections seems to be working great.

    Good luck!
