question about soaking
when i took aspen to the vet for her initial check up a few months ago ( maybe a month i'd have to look it up ) my veterinarian said it would be good practice to soak her every once in a while to get her "used" to it in case she ever needed to be soaked for a stuck shed or mites or something. is this something that is praticed or should i not worry about it until i actually need to do it?
aspen has shed perfectly for me every time and in one piece since i've gotten her and thats 4-5 sheds now. i have no issues with mites. i also recently moved her to a tub so i doubt i'll be having ANY issues with humidity.

Re: question about soaking
the only thing I would recommend is to make sure you don't let her soak too long without monitoring water temps

Re: question about soaking
I only soak mine when they have a bad shed - and that's usually with a new aquisition. I don't bathe or soak my animals any other time.

Re: question about soaking
I have only had occasion to soak my bp twice since I got her. The first time she shed with me, she had difficulty so I soaked her to help with her shed. The second time I soaked her was because she hadn't pooped in almost a month. I soaked her for 10 minutes and everything came out... Just keep a large enough water bowl in the tub/tank to allow your snake to soak when it feels necessary. Generally, you won't see your snake soaking unless there is an issue (mites, dehydration, stuck shed, etc...)

Re: question about soaking
My spider likes to lay in her own urine, which is the only time i give her a quick soak. I don't think you really need to train the snake to be used to it.
