Re: Need some help?
It could be mouth rot. I think a vet trip would probably be a good idea. If it is mouth rot, then catching it early is very good.
Can you get pics?

Without a picture it's really hard to speculate. Is it possible that it's a sore from perhaps biting down on a piece of bedding or other sharp object?
Safest bet would be a vet trip either way

Re: Need some help?
has he recently shed and/or fed? BP's briuse and scratch real easy right after a shed or could have gotten scratched during a feed.
Your vet can give you a clearer picture but i just wanted to point out other possibilities. keep a close eye on him for any other possible clues. is there an identical mark on other side of mouth? I have seen marks on mouth that look suspiscious only to see the exact same thing on other side showing it's just part of their natural markings.

Re: Need some help?
I have no idea what that is bro. Looks like he's about to go into shed though. I've never seen mouth rot look like that. I'd definitely get him to a vet asap.

Re: Need some help?
Hi Mike,
It's because your using the wrong links to try and show us the pics I think.
this is the one you posted;

and this is the one I get when I manually go looking;
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=125865849&albumID=1501021&imageID=182986 45
Looking at the image properties I get;
http://a635.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/75/l_e75d540ab06f3baa79516224d3b1e302.jpg
hang on while I try something;
Click here for picture.
Yep - posting the link you get when looking at the image properties via a right mouse click gives you a working link - but since that is hotlinking we have to change those to links instead.
But yeah, that does look like some kind of damage though a closer pic would be the best way to get a better idea. Do you feed live or F/T (just to be able to rule out rat bite etc) ?
You could upload it to your gallery here too remember.
